 Marcel Marceau had control of every muscle in his face and body.  I asked him about the difference between dance and mime during a publicity photo session in 1974 for his “Pickpocket’s Nightmare.” He told me the dancer’s quest was for flight, while the mime was earthbound but was always seeking a more subtle meaning in every gesture.
